Belly Dance Dangers

Saturday, December 22nd, 2007

Belly Dance looks a fabulous dance for keeping in shape and it is a funny way to stimulate your heart (and the heart of the man that watches you dancing it :), but not everything is good about belly dance. It can also be dangerous. If you don’t believe it, watch this video.

Reducing is the key for making diet

Saturday, December 15th, 2007

Making diet is one of the most difficult things on this world. The easiest is leaving everything as it is, I mean, eating whatever you want to eat, whenever you want to do it. But this is the first mistake if you want to loose weight. The obvious thing is that if you want to loose weight, you have to ingest less calories and this imply an effort we must do for ourselves. One of the easiest things to do is avoiding sugar consumption.

Sugar consumption
The goal on doing this is consuming less sugar than what we are used to. This means that if you drink coffee in the morning with two teaspoons of sugar, it would be better drinking this cofee without any teaspoons at all. This will translate in 14 teaspoons a week and 52 teaspoons in a month. This looks a fair amount of avoided sugar, isn’t it? Anyway, we shouldn’t go crazy with sugar, because sugar is necessary for life so we must keep eating sugar in other foods that naturally contain it. We just want to reduce its amount in our diet. Nedless to say that we shouldn’t be eating desserts that contain sugar, as ice creams, caramel, pastries, etc… This should be reduced as much as we can.

Fish vs. meat
Fish contains less fat than meat, and the fat that it contains is good fat (Omega 3), so it is much healthier eating fish than meat. It shouldn’t be fried fish, because it would absorv a lot of bad fats. It is much better fish cooked in oven, pan-fried, steamed or even raw. But don’t forget that meat is also a source of vitamins and minerals, so you shouldn’t ban it from your diet.

Garnitures
Whatever you eat it is usually accompanied by a garniture and you should avoid fried garnitures because they are usually soaked in oil (for instance, french fries) Try eating always low fat garnitures, and never forget that fat is also neccessary for life but in not very high amounts.

So as you can see, the objective is, as I said before, reducing the consumption of sugars and bad fats (reducing but not banning) In one week you should have lost some weight. If you haven’t, compare your previous diet to your actual one and see if you can reduce something else. Another way of doing this is reducing the quantity of the food you eat every day, but don’t be too drastic, because otherwise, you will be giving up very soon and this is not what we want.

Constancy is the second key for achieving and keeping it. There is no point on making drastic diets for loosing a lot of weight and starting eating back our usual diet again after it. The best thing is loosing our weight without noticing it by changing our eating habits (reducing our diary calory ingestion) and don’t forget that there is a studied healthy balance for food and we should always have an eye on it. Don’t think on diet as a temporary way of life. Think of it as a new way of eating.

Good luck and keep it up!

Wii and cockroach attraction

Saturday, December 8th, 2007

There is a rumour that says that Wii frequencies may attract cockroaches. I have the Wii console for one year now and I haven’t had any problems at all with cockroaches. I haven’t even seen one ever at home. Not to say that this rumour sounds stupid.

Lets analyze it a bit. The Wii communication methods are Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Wi-Fi is everywhere in out cities. At home, Work, magazines, commercial centers and I haven’t seen any cockroach invasion or increment at this places. The same happens with Bluetooth. Every one of our mobile phones has got Bluetooth implemented, and if you search for devices at your workplace, home or public tansportation, you will find hundreds of Bluetooth active communication devices. And this have been happening for at least 6 or 7 years and, once again, I haven’t seen any cockroach increment since then…

Any other vibration that could be emitted by the Nintendo Wii, would be emitted by any other electonic device as, consoles, televisions, computers, mobile phones, PDAs, laptops… And they are probably much more time switched on than our Wii console. So the conclussion is that this is a fake rumour or, as it is usally called, a hoax. Who really started it a why? I don’t know, but probably he wanted to make Wii unpopular and I think he is achieving the opposite.

Granado Espada Auction House

Sunday, December 2nd, 2007

The auction house in the Sword of the new World game is a great place for buying or selling stuff. At the beginning, I sold all the drops I picked up in the street market, but after a few levels, I realized that there was an auction NPC. This NPC icon is a bag with a dollar sign on it and is called “Market Manager”. You will find one on every city. Open the city map with the Ctrl-Z key combination and search for this name.

Once you talk to the NPC, you will be able to sell/buy or to get all the money from the sold items and the unsold items. Be careful, because if you don’t draw your items and money from the auction house in a few days (5 or 6) you willl loose them without any notice (It happened to me)

The auction will be available for 24 hours and you will have to pay a deposit consisting on a 1% of the auction price. If you want the auction to be anonymous, you will have to pay an extra deposit. To auction an item, just drag-n-drop the chosen item from your inventory, into the auction item drop area (the square on the top left area of the auction window) an item price will appear on the screen. We will call this price, the “sell price” , which is the price you would be given on the street maket if you were about to sell it. This price corresponds to the fourth part of the original item’s price.

For standard basic items (items that you can find in shops without any enhancement) you can set a price of three times its “sell price”. You can even have a look on the “buy” area of the auction house to see what price is setting other people for the same item. I always set up a price of three times the “sell price”.

For items that are sold in shops, but with any enhancement (some blue text at the end of the item details) you can set a higher price, but most people won’t mind this enhancements and will buy any unexpensive weapon that suits their level, so up to you. I always set up a price of three times the “sell price” for this items too.

The thing changes for items that are not sold on the street shops. This items are sold at a very unusual price. They can be as high as people set them. This items are for example: leg protectors for hired characters, knuckles, high level bracelets, costume pieces… You will learn about them. Just have a look to the buy section of the auction house before putting on auction any item.

As you pay for every auction, you will prefer auctioning on weekends for best results, because is when more people play and have a look at the auction house.
