Granado Espada Auction House

Sunday, December 2nd, 2007

The auction house in the Sword of the new World game is a great place for buying or selling stuff. At the beginning, I sold all the drops I picked up in the street market, but after a few levels, I realized that there was an auction NPC. This NPC icon is a bag with a dollar sign on it and is called “Market Manager”. You will find one on every city. Open the city map with the Ctrl-Z key combination and search for this name.

Once you talk to the NPC, you will be able to sell/buy or to get all the money from the sold items and the unsold items. Be careful, because if you don’t draw your items and money from the auction house in a few days (5 or 6) you willl loose them without any notice (It happened to me)

The auction will be available for 24 hours and you will have to pay a deposit consisting on a 1% of the auction price. If you want the auction to be anonymous, you will have to pay an extra deposit. To auction an item, just drag-n-drop the chosen item from your inventory, into the auction item drop area (the square on the top left area of the auction window) an item price will appear on the screen. We will call this price, the “sell price” , which is the price you would be given on the street maket if you were about to sell it. This price corresponds to the fourth part of the original item’s price.

For standard basic items (items that you can find in shops without any enhancement) you can set a price of three times its “sell price”. You can even have a look on the “buy” area of the auction house to see what price is setting other people for the same item. I always set up a price of three times the “sell price”.

For items that are sold in shops, but with any enhancement (some blue text at the end of the item details) you can set a higher price, but most people won’t mind this enhancements and will buy any unexpensive weapon that suits their level, so up to you. I always set up a price of three times the “sell price” for this items too.

The thing changes for items that are not sold on the street shops. This items are sold at a very unusual price. They can be as high as people set them. This items are for example: leg protectors for hired characters, knuckles, high level bracelets, costume pieces… You will learn about them. Just have a look to the buy section of the auction house before putting on auction any item.

As you pay for every auction, you will prefer auctioning on weekends for best results, because is when more people play and have a look at the auction house.

Sword of the New World

I registered on this online game and started playing one month ago. The game is also known by “Granado Espada”. It is a very well done game with very realistic textures, very detailed environment and very detailed characters. The first time I played, I talked to a NPC and I thought that you were presented an extremely detailed 2D character view, out of the 3D environment, but what it happens is that you are zoomed into a close view within the 3D environment! Cities are very well done too, colorful and full of details (the games client size is 3GB)

When you start, you have to create a family and three members with three different names, out of five available character types: A fighter, a magician, an elementalist, a musketeer and a scout. I chose a fighter, a magician and an elementalist.

After the tutorial, where you learn the basic movements, you start the real game play. At the beginning, everything looks very easy, becuase you start leveling up very fast, you never die or loose experience (instead of dying, you characters fall down inconscious for a few seconds) and this game has got the “auto-fight” feature: Your team characters fight automaticly every monter at fight range. Obviously, they fight with basic attacks and never use advanced spells, but this is fair enough for keeping a good leveling average. This way, you can leave you characters fighting, turn off your monitor and wait for a few hours to go one or two levels up. Needless to say that for “auto-fight” you need to be in an area with mobs five or six levels below yours.

One of the disadvantages on using the “auto-fight” feature is, that you can’t pick up any drops (and sometimes, mobs drop valuable items) But as a lot of people practice this kind of leveling and despite dropped items are reserved to a specific family, after a few seconds, this items become “pickable” for anyone, so you can “harvest” valuable items waiting in an area with people auto-fighting while in front of your computer.

There are also quiet areas and very dynamic areas. Some areas are good for auto-fight and some others are not. Wherever you find an unattended group of people fighting mobs, will be probably a good area to place you team on unattended mode. I used the “Al Quelt Moreza” dungeon for auto-fight on my first levels, and the “Tetra Ruins” for higher levels.
